Work at Home Business Opportunities: Paid Online Surveys

Work at Home, Home Based Online Paid Surveys are not new, despite all the hoopla on the internet right now. Marketing research firms have been paying or rewarding consumers to participate in surveys for years. Even when I was a child in the 60's (okay, I know... I'm dating myself) we filled out cereal box tops, mailed them in and received some token this, that or the other. What do you think that was? Market research my friend.

Surveys, focus groups, market intel and such have also been in existence for some time. But the Web has granted them a more-efficient way to collect data. So, many now conduct legit, online paid surveys and other types of paid, online marketing research.

But many questionable, "middleman" paid survey sites are destroying the credibility by hyping easy money for participating in online marketing research from home. These sites promise that you can make thousands of dollars working right from your own home. Remember the adage if it's too good to be true... it usually is...

When there's competition for selling an easy-money scheme working from home, you can bet that there's also exaggeration, if not outright scams. The people that own these sites are taking people's money without any sort of product to deliver or scruples.

Many questionable middleman sites charge "membership" fees for access to lists of marketing research firms that conduct online paid surveys, lists that are actually available for free if you do a little Google snooping.

I doubt very seriously that anyone is actually earning a complete living from online paid surveys. And with all the different websites and information on the internet it is impossible to figure out which ones are legitimate and which ones are scams. I've been personally duped by several of these. If anybody is earning a living from online paid surveys, it's considerably more probable to be middleman-site owners than participating consumers.

I've determined that there are a few legitimate sites out there but very few that do pay relatively well in cash. Even so the likelihood that you'll often earn the higher of the hyped amounts is slim. Besides the reality that most simply don't pay much, you must be invited to complete paid surveys. To be invited, you must fit targeted demographics. That alone limits your earnings right off the bat, as you can't possibly fit every demographic.

After having reviewed many work at home, home business online paid survey claims and actually joining several, you might earn a little extra spending money or develop a stream of internet income that supplements other income. It might permit you the vacation you've been wanting or that new item for your house or help pay down the credit card but I don't think that you'll actually make a living off of it.

One of those that I've reviewed is Paid Surveys, Etc. This is a quality site that, in my experience, delivers what they promise. As with all offers, you need to thoroughly evaluate it but it's made me a significant amount of money since I joined it.

Financial Freedom and Passive Income

5 Nov 2006, 1:51 pm EST

Started a website for my new goal. It's over at GeoCities Here. Go check it out. Why am I doing this, you may ask. I'll tell you. It's about financial freedom. Leaving the 8-5 work force. Spending time with my family instead of 12 and 14 hours a day with an employer who thinks those hours are a privilege! So, I started looking for a way to replace my current income. Not another job. Income. Go check out the site at geocities and the link on the side for multiple streams of income. I actually bought that product and it's a great source of information.

Blog?? I have been seeing and hearing blog this, blog that, all over the net. Sounds like some kind of Russian ale to me. I started this for two reasons. One is financial freedom. Note I DID NOT say get rich. More about that later. The other is that this provides an easy medium for me to record, journal style my adventure toward my new life.

So-o-o, on this lazy Saturday morning I thought I would learn what this blogging is, did a little surfing and searching, opened this account and here I am making my first entry. I hope to keep this one updated, almost like a journal or Captain's log. Real men don't keep diaries, right? I will be updating this from time-to-time so be sure and come back to see what I have added.
